MunozATT102814State Senator Tony Munoz (D-Chicago) joined AT&T on Tuesday to present a $2,000 contribution to Casa Catalina Catholic Charities, a food pantry located in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, for their efforts in improving their community.

“I’m honored to have the opportunity to help Casa Catalina in their remarkable efforts to serve their community,” Munoz said. “They offer an array of services that help people in need make ends meet.”

Casa Catalina opened in the early 1990s and has grown in size and the amount of people they serve, from 40 to 350 households weekly. They offer Back of the Yards residents a number of services aside from supplying food. People receive coats, toiletries, diapers, baby formula, school supplies and receive help applying for social programs.

“In a digital world and an Internet economy, AT&T is helping consumers and businesses move forward by delivering wired and wireless broadband solutions.  We’re also helping the communities we serve move forward through corporate contributions to Illinois non-profit groups and programs that are making a difference locally,” Sylvia Aldrete, AT&T External Affairs Manager said.
