Local school districts to receive $2.585 billion
I’m excited to announce school districts in our community will receive $2.585 billion in additional funding to help address the many challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. The majority of the funding comes as part of the most recent federal COVID-19 relief package, the American Rescue Plan, which gives schools a great deal of flexibility in how they can use the money over the next 3 ½ years. Learn more and see which schools in our area are receiving funding here https://bit.ly/2RoBFbC.

Residents encouraged to renew driver’s licenses, registration online
A trip to the driver services facility can be time-consuming, and during the pandemic, it could even put your health at risk. Avoid crowds and skip the line by purchasing license plate stickers, renewing your driver’s license or ID, and taking advantage of other online services at www.cyberdriveillinois.com. Remember: All expired driver’s licenses and ID cards are now valid until Aug. 1, 2021, so there’s no rush to renew.

All Illinoisans 16 and up eligible for the vaccine starting April 12
Getting vaccinated is the best way we can protect our friends, our family and ourselves against COVID-19. Starting April 12, all Illinoisans age 16 and up—regardless of occupation, age or medical background—will be eligible to receive the vaccine. There are a number of vaccination locations in our area. Register for an appointment on the Cook County Health Department portal.

Unable to book your appointment online? Call the toll-free Illinois Department of Public Health hotline at 833-621-1284.
