Munoz hosts diabetes prevention event

State Senator Tony Munoz (D–Chicago), chairman of the Legislative Diabetes Caucus, partnered with Saint Anthony Hospital to provide free glucose screenings on Friday, November 14, Illinois Diabetes Awareness Day.

Nearly 50 percent of people living with diabetes don’t know they have the condition, which does not always cause obvious symptoms.

Saint Anthony’s offered attendees a number of services, including glucose screenings, blood pressure screenings and a nutrition workshop. They also offered information on diabetes and maintaining a healthy diet.
